The optimised version of the platform offers improvements in terms of design, usability and performance. With a revamped portfolio of all the digital resources we’ve succeeded in developing a more intuitive and inclusive system that encourages interaction between teachers and users at another level. It’s a more qualitative platform that raises the level of our educational programme and, above all, improves the experience of the teachers and students who benefit from it.
ProFuturo’s digital platform is the epicentre of our educational programme. It’s a comprehensive learning ecosystem that’s divided into different platforms with a large number of resources and operational both online and offline.
Our goal is to constantly update the entire portfolio of digital resources for transformational and innovative teaching and learning while remaining at the forefront of the new technologies and trends.
Under this premise, we carry out regular analyses and evaluations to ascertain the status of the platform, its usability, the temporality of the contents and the usefulness of the tools for the teachers, among many other factors, and we establish an improvement plan based on the needs observed in the different countries that run the programme.
After carrying out this perception study with the teachers and coaches and the internal ProFuturo team, we identify the needs for improvement in terms of design, usability and process efficiency to ensure a better performance. And we also detect the need for teachers to create their own content and access it online and on their mobile phones.
As a result of this proposed improvement plan, we present a new version that includes important new features. ProFuturo’s new digital platform is divided into three areas:
- Teacher training: a catalogue with over 160 free certified courses
- Classroom experiences: with resources that enable teachers to give their classes, manage their groups of students and assess each of them in a personalised manner.
- Community: a new space that allows teachers to interact with each other and learn from their experiences.
You’ll find ProFuturo’s entire portfolio of digital resources on the new platform. They range from training courses, a technical support service and a self-assessment tool for teachers to resources for introducing technology and innovation into the classroom and interactive content for students.
It also provides access to the visualisation of educational resources and content and the chance to interact with the teachers. The tutor will have the option of monitoring the activity of its users in various ways (by modules, by participants and by course progress).
The benefits incorporated into the new version of the platform include the four following ones:
- An easy and intuitive user experience thanks to its improved structure and design.
- The teacher training resources and classroom experiences are integrated into a single space to facilitate their use.
- It can be used on different types of platforms and devices, making it easily accessible.
- It encourages the interaction of the international teaching community.
The educational proposal is now divided into six schools of knowledge: mathematics, digital skill, computational thinking and Artificial Intelligence, educational innovation, citizenship and multiple literacies. Each of them includes educational resources that allow teachers to enrich their capabilities as educators in each area of knowledge.
The platform is developed in Moodle, the international reference learning management system. As it’s based on open source, it enables the local teams to develop functions that can then be incorporated into the global project.
Moreover, the platform is integrated into the ProFuturo Analytics System to track all the activities and platforms at ProFuturo and monitor the activity of all the users on the platform. It also includes specialised technical support and accompaniment for coaches and teachers around the world.
Besides, the platform’s technological infrastructure allows us to provide high availability on the four continents on which we operate (America, Europe, Africa and Asia). We also have more than 1 million users, 800 calls for all the countries throughout the year and 3,000 users per second working concurrently, and we manage more than 2,000 requests per month, meeting the needs of operations in Spanish, English, Portuguese, French and Arabic.
ProFuturo’s new digital platform constitutes a highly important qualitative leap for our educational programme and, above all, the day-to-day lives of the teachers and students who benefit from it.
