The international educational innovation programme with technology from Fundación Telefónica and Fundación ‘la Caixa’ is part of the Digital Transformation Collaborative (DTC) and Global Education Coalition networks, two initiatives led by UNESCO to promote the digital transformation of education systems globally.
Within the framework of this collaboration, and on the occasion of the Ministerial Meeting organised by the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), the DTC convened a meeting in Ghana in which ProFuturo had the opportunity to participate. The meeting brought together various key players to discuss and share experiences on how to support African governments in their educational digitisation processes.
The ADEA Triennale 2025 is one of Africa’s leading high-level forums for policy dialogue, peer learning and the exchange of knowledge and impactful experiences in education, bringing together African policymakers, educators, development partners and researchers to reflect on critical issues shaping the transformation of education systems for sustainable social and economic development across the continent.
In addition to attending the Ministerial Meeting, which addressed the main challenges and opportunities in the field of education on the African continent, ProFuturo also collaborated in facilitating a session. Representatives from Ghana, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Benin and Kenya worked to identify a key challenge for integrating AI into education and define a priority action, such as teacher training, data privacy frameworks or inclusive AI design.
These types of actions help ministries analyse, prioritise and implement digital transformation in education through interactive dialogue. This year’s event built on the legacy of the three previous meetings held in Ouagadougou (2012), Dakar (2017) and Mauritius (2022).
