July witnessed the end of a year in which ProFuturo reached schools in more than 20 countries, including the Philippines. Following the signing of an agreement with Ayala Foundation Inc. and the Department of Education MIMAROPA Region, ProFuturo is glad to celebrate the launching of 31 schools in the Asian country.

Under this agreement, ProFuturo, together with the two organizations and with the involvement of the local governments, will bring digital education to boys and girls from 14 elementary schools in El Nido and 17elementary schools in Puerto Galera, in the respective provinces of Palawan and Oriental Mindoro.

Ayala Foundation Inc. (AFI) is one of the pioneering corporate foundations in the Philippines and a member of the Ayala Group of Companies. Since 1961, aware of the need to take an active part in national development, it has worked in four key areas: Education (enhanced public elementary school education, teacher training, and provision of ICT learning tools), youth leadership, sustainable sources of livelihood and art and culture.

With this collaboration, 195 teachers will receive training from ProFuturo in October this year. In a country with a 24.2% school drop-out rate and only 40.7%[1] internet penetration, the project is expected to benefit more than 10,000 children.
