She was set to change education in her country. Still, Folawe Omikunle came to the world of education “by accident” after completing her studies in International Relations and Diplomacy. Then, however, a little girl crossed her path to change her life literally. While Folawe was waiting to work in her country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she started running a small school in Lagos, where she saw how education could change the lives of the children who passed through. At that moment, she felt a responsibility to ensure that children from vulnerable communities could access quality education. So it began a journey that continues today and has led her to Teach for Nigeria. This organisation is part of the global Teach for All network, which aims to achieve educational equity through the “recruitment” and training of young talent.
