Today, January 24, we commemorate International Education Day, a date that reminds us of the transformative power of education to change lives and open doors to a future full of opportunities. At ProFuturo, we are committed to this vision and work every day to bring digital learning to the most vulnerable corners of the world, with the purpose of reducing the educational gap and ensuring that no boy or girl is left behind.
This day invites us to reflect on the impact of education on students, teachers and communities. Each story of transformation, born from education, inspires us to continue building a more just and equitable world, where knowledge is the basis of progress.

UNESCO, by proclaiming this commemoration, has focused this year on the theme: “AI and Education: Preserving Autonomy in an Automated World,” highlighting how artificial intelligence is redefining the way we learn and teach. This advance must keep the human being at the centre, ensuring that these tools enhance their autonomy and development.
In the program we align ourselves with this objective, working to provide people with the skills and abilities necessary to understand, influence and take advantage of technological advances to improve, personalize, monitor and enhance educational processes. This effort materializes in classrooms, homes and communities, where students and teachers, hand in hand with technology and AI, prepare to face the challenges of the 21st century and build the future in which they want to live. For this, the best evidence of our impact is our ProFuturo Stories, and for today, we wanted to share Dair’s story with you.
Dair and tablets in a rural school in Peru
In the mountains of Peru, Dair, a student at a rural school, dreams of being a civil engineer. Thanks to the digital tablets that we have brought along with the impact of our educational program, he and his classmates now learn mathematics through interactive games and explore the richness of the flora and fauna of their country in a way never before imagined.
For Dair, technology is not only an educational tool, it is a window to his future; for Felipe, his father, education will be the best inheritance he can leave his children; and for Letty, the school’s director, it is an opportunity for both teachers and students to build a better future for the entire community.
