In order to contribute to equal opportunities in the most vulnerable areas of Guatemala, ProFuturo has landed in the Central American country with the objective of benefiting 28,000 boys and girls and training more than 1,000 teachers.

Promoted by the Telefónica Foundation and the “La Caixa” Banking Foundation, the project has been launched in 189 schools from 43 municipalities, delivering 300 cases containing technological equipment for the classrooms. In addition, they will train teachers in the acquisition of new skills through technology, to be applied in innovative teaching methodologies.

In the words of José Antonio Fernández Valbuena, Director of the Telefónica Foundation in Guatemala, “The programme is based on four stages: research, teacher training, delivering the case and implementing the project, all of which require the weekly accompaniment of the Telefónica Foundation in order to maintain an updated follow-up and make sure that the tools are at the service of the teachers and students in question.”
