ProFuturo joins the Emergency Committee’s partner network

ProFuturo is joining the partner network of the Emergency Committee in Spain to support its campaigns in emergencies and humanitarian crises with an educational dimension.

The Emergency Committee, made up of Action Against Hunger, Doctors of the World, Oxfam Intermón, Plan International and World Vision, is an NGO specialising in humanitarian aid. It operates with the aim of providing a collective rapid response mechanism for emergency situations. It also collaborates with companies, institutions and media outlets that act as key partners by providing their information and outreach channels with their audiences, customers and collaborators to raise awareness of the emergency, publicise the need for aid and support fund-raising.

ProFuturo collaborated with the Emergency Committee at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic to support the #ElGranRetoSolidario initiative, an online TV marathon with a dual objective, namely to connect with society to explain the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on the most vulnerable people in Spain and countries with fewer resources and to raise funds to facilitate the projects of the Committee’s member entities.

As education is one of the areas most severely affected by the pandemic, ProFuturo supported this gala, which lasted eight and a half hours, featured more than 25 live performances and raised nearly 170,000 euros.

United for the benefit of education

In order to support this large collective initiative, ProFuturo has signed a collaboration agreement with the Emergency Committee.

With this agreement ProFuturo will contribute to communication and appealing for aid in humanitarian emergencies related to the fundamental right to education. The goal is to ensure that the existing educational divide doesn’t widen in the wake of dramatic events such as hurricanes and armed conflicts.
