The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) works to protect and assist refugees worldwide. Its efforts aim to ensure that all people have the right to seek asylum and find a safe haven in another state, with the option to return home, integrate or resettle eventually.
Since early 2021, UNHCR and ProFuturo Foundation have been working together to help improve the quality of education for more than 17,000 refugee children in Rwanda. The partnership involves implementing the ProFuturo digital education programme in nine schools in the country and includes the provision of technology (such as computers, tablets, and projectors), an educational content platform, as well as a training and capacity-building programme for more than 300 teachers.
