Implementing policies to improve the quality of education

María Victoria Angulo believes education is the way to progress, work for equity and build better countries. Minister of Education of the Colombian Government between 2018 and 2022, María Victoria Angulo is a social economist with more than 20 years of experience in social policy, with particular emphasis on education. Within the Ministry of Education, she has been director of higher education promotion and deputy director of institutional support. She has also held the positions of executive director of the Fundación Empresarios por la Educación and Secretary of Education of the District of Bogotá.

All these experiences have allowed her to get to know the reality of his country, to be passionate about social issues, and to learn about the education sector at all levels of education, from the public sector, teaching, the boards of several Colombian universities and the joint work with the leading civil society organisations that contribute to placing education on the public agenda.
