All children, no matter where they are, have the right to education – and not just any education, but a quality education. ProFuturo, the digital education program promoted by Telefónica Foundation and the “La Caixa” Foundation has been providing children with new opportunities for their future through learning, innovation and technology for 7 years.
In order to continue contributing to narrowing the gaps in access, use and quality of educational resources, we have signed a partnership agreement with Air Europa, which makes the airline a partner in the transport of the necessary technological school equipment so that children in the most vulnerable corners of Latin America can receive a quality education. Under the agreement, the airline will transport more than five tonnes of educational materials to territories in Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay.
In addition, the airline is committed to disseminating the ProFuturo programme through its internal and external communication channels, in order to raise awareness among its customers, employees and suppliers in the communities where it operates and to highlight the importance of combining education with technology and innovative teaching methodologies so that teachers and students in vulnerable areas develop the necessary skills to enable them to face the challenges of the 21st century.
Air Europa joins our great team of allies including UNHCR, UNESCO, the International Rescue Committee (IRC), the Organisation of Ibero-American States (OEI), Save the Children and World Vision. In addition, as a socially and environmentally committed and responsible company, it brings its participation to the different actions led by ProFuturo, following the principles set out by the Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals and which allow it to contribute to the reduction of the social gap by committing to innovation, equal opportunities, economic growth and decent work.
