Lola Martínez–Bernabéu is the new executive director of the ProFuturo educational program, supported by Fundación Telefónica and the “la Caixa” Foundation. She has served as ProFuturo’s head of operations since 2017, during a key period of expansion for the project, which she has helped grow through her strategic vision, leadership, and experience in international project management.
Martínez–Bernabéu replaces Magdalena Brier in the role, whom the president of ProFuturo wished to thank for her dedication and professional commitment since 2019.
With a degree in Business Administration from CUNEF, Lola Martínez–Bernabéu holds an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa. She has over 30 years of experience, mostly in the telecommunications sector, and has built her career at leading companies such as Telefónica, working for clients including Vodafone, BT, Euskaltel, and ONO while at Accenture.
She began her professional career at the Bank of Spain as an accounting analyst and university professor. She later worked at Accenture as a manager in the strategic consulting division. In 2003, she joined the Telefónica Group, where she has held various leadership positions in sales, transformation, systems development and implementation, and B2B operations.
Currently, the international educational innovation program using technology is active in 30 countries across Latin America, Africa, and Asia, where it promotes quality digital education in vulnerable settings to improve opportunities for thousands of children and teachers.
