ProFuturo launches the first teaching guide in Spanish for OctoStudio

In an effort to promote inclusive and quality digital education, ProFuturo announces a new resource of the School of Computational Thinking and AI.

In an initiative led by the ProFuturo digital education program, promoted by the Telefónica Foundation and the “La Caixa” Foundation, the first teaching guide to OctoStudio in Spanish is released. This application, developed by the MIT Media Lab’s Lifelong Kindergarten group, promises to revolutionise the way educators introduce programming and computational thinking in the classroom.

OctoStudio is more than just an application; it is a tool that allows students of all ages to bring their ideas to life. From mobile phones and tablets, they are able to create projects, interactive animations and games. They can capture moments with photos, record sounds, paint characters and create programming blocks. The versatility also makes it easy to share these creations with family and friends, encouraging creativity and learning any time, anywhere.

The application can be found on the ProFuturo website, specifically in the School of Computational Thinking and AI, a school dedicated to the development of integrated learning, critical thinking, digital skills, creativity and problem-solving to meet the challenges of the digital age.

The app is released as a free, accessible tool designed to encourage computational thinking among students. It can be downloaded from both Google Play and Apple’s App Store, and is also available via the direct link on the website. The best thing about OctoStudio is that it can be used with limited or no access to computers or Internet connection!

Quick guide to downloading the app

The teaching guide provides detailed instructions on how to download OctoStudio from the ProFuturo website, accompanied by an introduction on how to take the first steps in using the application. The main objective is to make OctoStudio accessible to teachers of all levels of technological expertise, thus facilitating its implementation in diverse educational environments.

Here is the quick version for download:
