ProFuturo back on the streets to run for education

The 5th edition of the ProFuturo solidarity race, held on 14 November in Madrid, was a great success in terms of participation. Nearly 1,000 people took to the streets of the capital after a year marked by the pandemic and the virtual version of the meeting.

The ProFuturo Race, one of the best known popular and solidary races on the calendar, brought together almost 1,000 runners on Sunday 14 November and raised more than €19,000, which will be donated to the digital education programme with which Telefónica Foundation and “la Caixa” Foundation contribute to closing the educational gap in isolated environments and at risk of exclusion in 40 different countries.

The first to cross the finish line were Borja Aragoneses in the men’s category and Claudia Moreno in the women’s category with 18:04 minutes and 21:48 minutes respectively.

The race represents the 5k modality within the context of the Movistar Medio Maratón de Madrid and, since 2016, every year it brings together thousands of people who run for the same cause: to help millions of children in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia to have access to quality education.
