The educational partnership between Comprometidos con la Educación and American Tower benefited more than 6,700 students and 520 teachers in Mexico

The initiative includes donating technological equipment to schools, along with training and support programs for their teachers.

The year 2025 marked the consolidation of the partnership between American Tower, through its Digital Communities initiative, and the “Committed to Education” program in Mexico, reaching 6,700 students and 520 teachers across the country. This collaboration is part of a global partnership that, by 2025, reached more than 36,000 students, nearly 1,900 teachers, and 97 schools in Chile, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Kenya, and Nigeria. The initiative includes the donation of technological equipment, teacher training, and technical and pedagogical support—both in-person and virtual—aimed at strengthening digital skills and integrating technological tools into learning.

To ensure continuous improvement, the educational program includes an evaluation component based on qualitative studies and feedback mechanisms, which allow the program to be improved and adapted to the needs of each context and the level of each school. In Mexico, this program is implemented with the support of the Ateneo Español de México, as a strategic partner. Founded in 1949 by Mexican and Spanish intellectuals in exile, the Ateneo Español de México is a civil association dedicated to promoting culture, learning, and the exchange of ideas, establishing itself as a space for reflection and community.

Regarding the results and impact of this partnership in Mexico, and his most recent visit to one of the schools implementing the program in Tláhuac, Gaspar Meichtry, Vice President and General Manager of American Tower Mexico, noted, “I am impressed by the dedication of all the teachers to this program, including the school administration and leadership; everyone is committed and enthusiastic about using this program. I was able to observe how students quickly and effectively reinforce what they’ve learned in the classroom through the use of tablets, thereby integrating digital tools into their educational process.”

For his part, Juan Luis Bonilla Rius, president of the Ateneo Español de México, stated: “We reaffirm our conviction that education is a key tool for equity, social transformation, and the development of citizenship. We are honored to support initiatives that help bridge educational gaps and bring technology to children and teachers in vulnerable communities, as the ‘Committed to Education’ program does.”

Joining Forces Since 2023

In December 2023, American Tower and the ProFuturo Foundation signed a global agreement to collaborate in various schools across Latin America and Africa. Since then, this partnership has expanded significantly, growing from an initial goal of 44 schools in 3 countries to nearly 100 educational institutions in both regions.

This initiative has helped transform classrooms, empowering teachers and sparking enthusiasm for learning in communities that faced technological limitations.
