We know that learning Maths is essential for many things in everyday life: paying at the supermarket, getting to places on time or changing the proportions of your favourite brownie recipe to make it giant and still be as good. But in addition to all this, developing mathematical thinking is vital for happier and fairer societies. In this interview, Carmen Salcedo, academic director of Jump Math Spain and Latin America, tells us why.
She also tells us about the great hurdles we have to jump when it comes to teaching and learning this subject that for centuries has been a headache for millions of students around the world.
