Do you want to know how the transformational power of e-ducation is materialised? Our track record shows how ProFuturo improves the quality of education in the contexts where it operates.

The ProFuturo programme, promoted by Fundación Telefónica  and Fundación “la Caixa” is a comprehensive, customisable and flexible education proposal. Our goal is to boost the development of digital skills for life and learning to allow teachers, students, leaders and school principals face the challenges of 21st century society. We rely on technology and innovation to transform education and foster essential digital skills in the vulnerable contexts where we operate.

ProFuturo works to transform digital education and to respond to the great challenge of achieving equal opportunities in the most vulnerable countries so that no one is left behind. Our mission also responds to Sustainable Development Goal 4 of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations (SDG4): “To ensure inclusive, equitable and quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”.

Below we present ten pieces of evidence of the impact of our digital education programme:

1. Digital Gap

Digital education facilitates interactivity and access to information. ProFuturo brings technology to those who would otherwise have no way of accessing state-of-the-art technological equipment and includes rural areas in the digital reality, thus equalising the rights of children living in rural and urban contexts.

2. Future opportunities

Students say that digitalisation has made possible an increase in opportunities for the future. At the same time, the education community regards the programme as an opportunity to overcome barriers and achieve equal opportunities.

3. Teaching competences

For teachers, it improves digital skills, increases familiarity with technology and contributes to better organisation, planning and lesson preparation.

4. Motivation to continue teaching

Facing up to new challenges increases motivation and the interaction between teachers by improving their pedagogical skills.

5. Educational innovation

Digital resources allow teachers to review lessons from their mobile or tablet and make changes to them at any time. More dynamic ways of teaching are emerging, suited to the students’ needs are shaped by capitalising on interactive contents.

6. Personalised learning

Technology enhances the ability to cater to each student’s differences, paces, needs and goals; personalised learning ensures professional success. The technology, with more visual content and practical activities, helps students with greater learning difficulties.

7. Motivation to continue studying

ProFuturo is an incentive in that it increases the students’ motivation to learn, increases punctuality and contributes to reducing absenteeism and drop-out rates.

8. Improved skills

It increases interest in reading and writing by using tablets and enhances digital skills in terms of reading, arithmetic and self-learning competences.

9. Greater commitment to education

Families appreciate the benefits of the programme in that it improves their children’s knowledge, who pass it on to their elders, thus reinforcing intergenerational digital literacy. These interactions enable families to build closer relationships with one another and increase their children’s commitment to learning through the new technologies.

10. Organisational changes

ProFuturo is generating a new distribution of time and space and the responsibilities and organisation among teachers to ensure the appropriate incorporation of technology. Teamwork in the classroom and school is encouraged, as the students and teachers strengthen one another.
