On Sunday, 6th April 2025, Madrid will once again be the site of the ProFuturo Race. Now in its ninth edition, this charity event will draw thousands of runners, who we call RunnersWithACause, ready to tally up the kilometres for education.
The race, with a brand-new 5-km route, is considered the “baby sister” of the Movistar Madrid Half-Marathon. That said, its impact goes far beyond sports: it is a space for reflection and social awareness, highlighting the importance of bringing quality education to children in all corners of the world, especially those living in vulnerable environments.
Transforming education is a long-distance race for us all, and every kilometre translates into resources that make a better life for many, many people. Crossing the finish line means one step closer to meeting Sustainable Development Goal 4: ensuring inclusive, equitable and quality education for all.
Everything you need to know:
2025 ProFuturo Race
- Distance: 5 km
- Date and Time: 6 April 2025 – 9:00 am
Children’s races
- Distance: From 80 to 600 m
- Date and Time: 5 April 2025 – 5:00 to 6:00 pm
- Start and finish: Avenida Ronda de la Comunicación, Distrito Telefónica (Madrid)
Pick-up of race bibs
- Location: Runner’s Fairground – Distrito Telefónica (La Ronda area, Servicios building, 1st floor)
- Dates and timetables:
- Thursday 3 April: 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm
- Friday 4 and Saturday 5 April: 10:00 am to 8:00 pm
- Requirements:
- ID and registration confirmation email
- If you haven’t received the email, the receipt can be checked and downloaded on the enrolment platform.
- If another person is picking up your runner’s bib, they need to present a signed authorisation and a photocopy of your ID.
- No need to print out the documents; they can be shown on a mobile device.
Delivery of T-shirt and chip
- The official T-shirt is given out with the runner’s bib and the sizes are assigned according to the pick-up order.
- The chip will be attached to the back of the bib and should not be removed or tampered with.
Entrance to the Runner’s Fairground
- Location: Servicios Building in Distrito Telefónica, first floor.
- Just 300 metres from the Ronda de la Comunicación station (Metro Line 10).
- EMT Line 172, with stop at the Telefónica’s facilities.
- Free parking next to the fairground.

- Current figure: Over 1,800 runners already signed up.

- Trophies for the fastest runners.
- The top three in each category will receive a prize.
- All participants in the children’s races will receive a medal.
